BankServ and Commerce Bank Offer Remote Deposit Capture Services
August 9, 2006
— BankServ and Commerce Bank of New Jersey have teamed up to offer Remote Deposit Image Capture services to Commerce's business customers. This offering has been available since August, 2004 and this product has enabled Commerce Bank customers to deposit over $1 Billion to date, from their offices. Commerce chose to private label BankServ's DepositNow Check 21 and Account Receivable Conversion (ARC) technology, branding it "RapidDeposit", for differentiation in the market and brand consistency.
RapidDeposit converts paper checks into legally compliant digital images that can be viewed on-screen, automatically verified against previous check scans and data entry, encrypted for secure transmission and stored for on-demand research and audit trail. Commerce also plans to introduce BankServ’s DepositNowTM for QuickBooks®, the first product integrated with market leading accounting software, later this summer.
Dave Kvederis, CEO of San Francisco based BankServ said, "RapidDeposit is ideal for a variety of industries including Property Managers, Healthcare Providers, Wholesalers, Universities, Non-Profits and Government. The simple to use service requires an inexpensive desktop scanner connected to a PC and an internet browser. Businesses can make deposits 7x24 from their office, eliminating trips to the bank and receiving faster deposits and returns, requiring less data entry with pre-filled captured information and accounting system downloads and providing online access to every deposit detail."
Michael Jewart, Director of Product Management and Development for Commerce Bank Cash Management continues, "A business depositing 30 checks at the branch over a week typically spends 5 hours to do so. With RapidDeposit, what took hours, now takes minutes. Additional features such as maintaining images, data entry and A/R file exports make this a powerful business tool." Mr. Jewart cites a typical success story with a large multi-national contractor. "RapidDeposit allows our customer to deploy scanners at each of their offices to gain the efficiencies of one bank account and next day availability. Talk about positive float impact!"
"Our BankServ partnership is a strong one because we share the same goals," continues Jewart. "We both are committed to providing outstanding convenience and real value added cash management services to businesses of all sizes. Online deposits allow our business customers to focus more on their core business RapidDepositsm is a natural extension of Commerce's 'America's most convenient bank's service philosophy. It also reinforces our position of being 'America's est Cash Management.'"
Kvederis added, "Our partners are looking for ways to innovate and differentiate to improve customer satisfaction and retention, to grow business relationships. Remote Deposit opens up new cross-sell opportunity, multi-site and remote business expansion and participation in the A/R process to create valuable new insights and recurring revenue steams. Remote Deposit demand has been tremendous, as expected by leading industry analysts. And our partnership with Commerce Bank demonstrates that we've delivered the quality and functionality expected by market leaders."
