BankServ Introduces High Volume Fault-Tolerant SWIFT CBT Solution

October 20, 2003 -SINGAPORE — Sibos. For the first time, financial institutions worldwide have the opportunity to employ fault tolerant hardware in conjunction with a Windows® based SWIFT CBT application. Introduced by San Francisco-based BankServ, GFX-TurboSwift® was designed specifically to connect to SWIFTNet without requiring additional hardware or software. "Many of the existing mid range and mainframe SWIFT CBT solutions require additional communication hardware and software to accommodate the SWIFTNet migration. Rather than cobble together multiple pieces of software and hardware, we took the seamless approach of building SWIFTNet connectivity directly into GFX TurboSwift on fault-tolerant ftServer® servers from Stratus Technologies", said Dave Kvederis, Chief Executive Officer. "After building a high quality integrated application, we then matched it with the newest technology in fault tolerant processing" he added.

GFX TurboSwift is offered on the Intel processor-based ftServer systems using Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system and SQL Server as the database engine. Stratus servers provide uptime reliability of 99.999% or better, the highest in the server industry.

"We believe the Stratus® ftServer platform with Windows 2000 and SQL Server provides the best combination of hardware, operating system and database to meet the high-availability performance requirements for SWIFT CBT applications demanded by the largest banks," said Randy Gutierrez, BankServ chief technology officer. "BankServ recently bench tested GFX TurboSwift on the mid-range Stratus ftServer 5240 system, achieving 150,000 transactions per hour," he added.

Stratus announced its new ftServer 5600 mid-range and ftServer 6600 high-end systems September 8, 2003. Compared to the ftServer 5240 performance results reported by BankServ, the ftServer 6600 enterprise-class server is expected to deliver 30 to 70 percent better performance depending on the system configuration, or as much as 250,000 transactions per hour.

"Although the SWIFTNet Migration is in process, operationally we are ready to deploy GFX TurboSwift to financial institutions now", said Peter Hosokawa, BankServ's Chief Operating Officer. Our worldwide distributors, U.S. and U.K. support staff continue to support the conversion of existing GFX TurboSwift customers to SWIFTnet and we have already successfully converted many of our existing customers. We welcome the opportunity to support new customers on the GFX TurboSwift application. We are committed to providing a mature, SWIFTNet certified product with the highest quality and most knowledgeable customer service staff."
