Quality Assurance Engineer III
Department: Wire/Enterprise Payments
Location: Las Vegas
Job Description: The QA Engineer III will be responsible for working on QA assignments of complex nature. He/She will work with Product Management to gain in-depth understanding of business requirements and with development team to understand software design. Based on business requirements and software design, he/she will develop Test Strategy and Detailed Test Plan to ensure that full test coverage is achieved.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
Participating in software design reviews, Functional and Technical Specifications reviews.
Providing estimates for assigned tasks/projects.
Design and development of Test Cases and Test Scripts, and executing scripts to test the functional requirements of the IT applications.
Identifying test data requirements, creating test data and database queries to assist in test execution.
Identifying/recording software deficiencies, producing test reports and working closely with development to assist in resolution of identified software deficiencies.
Qualifications:
7+ years of solid hands-on QA testing experience including extensive experience in testing complex Client/Server and Web applications.
Expert level knowledge of SDLC and experience in all phases of QA testing (i.e. Functional, Integration, Regression, Positive and Negative, Boundary, Ad-hoc testing, etc.)
Must be self-motivated, willing to learn new concepts, technologies and products
Demonstrated expertise in QA processes and methodology.
Demonstrated ability to develop test strategies, test plans and scripts that effectively test the product functionality throughout the full development/test lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to follow through on all tasks and commitments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose software problems beyond superficial symptoms.
Ability to research, plan, execute complex tasks with limited supervision.
Ability to manage time effectively, organize and prioritize multiple project responsibilities, and to produce quality work under aggressive timelines.
Experience with Unix, Linux and various versions of Windows operating systems. Ability to develop SQL queries.
Experience with Oracle, MSSQL and RDBMS.
Desired Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience in Information Systems is required.
Understanding of relational database concepts is required.
Database application development experience is a plus.
Automation design/development experience is a plus.
Experience with web development and deployment of web-based applications is a plus.
White Box testing or Software Development experience is a plus.
Banking experience including knowledge of Electronic Payments, Funds Transfer, SWIFT, ACH, and Check21 is a plus.
